MOA003 Medical Terminology Level 1
Medicine has its own language, students will learn word structure, suffixes prefixes, pronunciation, abbreviations and spelling of terms to describe medical conditions. Students will learn human anatomy and physiology
MOA004 Medical Terminology Level 2
Students will further enhance their knowledge of Terminology by learning about the various body systems including the digestive system, urinary system and reproductive system. They will learn about the human body as a whole. They will also learn the basics of Pharmacology.
MOA005 Medical Office and Clinical Procedures
Medical transcription is taught to reinforce medical terms and procedures. Students will also be taught to improve their Proofreading, Editing, Speed and Accuracy Skills. This module will familiarize the students with various medical letters and reports, which are dictated by Medical Professionals.

MOA007 Health Care Communications
Students will learn basic communication skills relating to the medical field that will assist them in dealing with all patients and understanding cultural differences and promoting inclusivity and respect to everyone. Students will learn the importance of teamwork, and professionalism.
MOA008 Medical Billing and Electronic Records
Students will create patient databases and complete medical office billing procedures including MSP billing, WorkSafeBC billing and ICBC billing. Students will become familiar with the BC Medical Association Guide to Fees and Diagnostic Codes. Students will use a functional healthcare records program. They will understand the importance of electronic healthcare records in the healthcare industry today and how it relates to a more efficient and effective healthcare delivery process.
MOA009 First Aid, CPR Level C and WHMIS
MOA010 Career and Employment Strategies
This course provides information on how to use the communication skills learned in order to make a successful presentation to a prospective employer. Self assessment during this course allows students to identify their personal skills. Students will prepare an effective resume and cover letter
MOA011 Work Experience
A four (4) week Work Experience will be arranged upon successful completion of all the above noted courses.
